Founder Of NKPC

NKPC Kidney clinic was founded in the year 2007 by the pioneering work in the field of urology by Dr Avishek Mukherjee MS MCH. Dr Avishek Mukherjee is trained from two of the most prestigious centres of national importance. He did his MBBS from AIIMS New delhi in the year 1991-1996. Then he completed his training in general surgery from AIIMS in the year 1997-2000. For further specialised training in urology and kidney transplant surgery he studied at PGI Chandigarh and completed his MCH training in the year 2000-2003. After completion of his training, he came to Kolkata to serve the people in eastern India. He has been providing pioneering care in this field from the 2003 till date.

Dr Avishek Mukherjee established the NKPC Kidney clinic with the intention to develop a centre of excellence in the care of kidney and prostate disorders. NKPC has focussed and excelled in this specialised care segment. Most advanced technology including lasers and modern endoscopes are available for care of all patients. Most recently the team has acquired the most modern surgical robot for furthering the care of our patients.

Dr. Avishek Mukherjee is one of the foremost practising urosurgeons in eastern India. He is trained from two of the most prestigious medical universities of India - AIIMS New Delhi and PGI Chandigarh.

He subsequently continued his work at 1 Anandoloke Hospital 2009-2010 2 Ruby General hospital 2010-2016. For providing state of the art care for all urosurgery parients, with most economical pricing he started NKPC kidney clinic In the year 2007. Initially as a day care center and then he started the super-specialised Kidney hospital NKPC Kidney clinic in the year 2016. It has been his attempt to provide world class care to all patients irrespective of the economic background if the patient.

Robotic Pyeloplasty
When the kidney cannot drain into the ureter efficiently due to congenital kidney ureter obstruction, then we can reconstruct the ureter with complete Robotic reconstruction.
Robotic Ureter Reimplantation
When the ureter is damaged or forms a constriction resulting in obstruction of the kidney we can use a bladder flap to save the kidney and replace the ureter by Robotic Surgery.
Robotic vesicovaginal fistula repair
When accidentally the bladder perforates into the vagina and the patient leaks urine via the vagina we can use Robotic Surgery to repair the bladder and save the patient from severe morbidity

Ureteral stone management
Ureters are the narrow tubes via which the urine is drained from the kidney to the urinary bladder. Since the ureters are very narrow tubes therefore stones often get impacted inside the ureters. Small stones are managed with medication like tamsulosin which can help the stone to pass. But larger stones are best treated with laser ureteroscopy. At NKPC Kidney clinic we have to the most modern lasers to tackle these stones.
Kidney stone management
Stones are always formed inside the kidneys. Any stone larger than 5mm inside the kidney needs treatment. There are no medicines which can dissolve the stones therefore these stones are best treated with laser surgery.
RIRS
This advanced surgery uses a fiberoptic instrument to access kidney stones. No cut or stitch is needed. The surgeon accesses the kidney by placing this fiber-optic uretero-renoscope, from the external urinary passage all the way into the kidney. And then the stones are destroyed with holmium laser.
Holep
We at NKPC use an AURIGA XL Holmium laser generator. With this energy source the bleeding is minimized to near zero. The procedure entails removal of the entire three lobes of the prostate. These lobes are then detached and delivered from within the bladder using an equipment, called morcellator. The lobes are sucked out of the bladder. Holep allows us to tackle large prostate loads.
